Engine 40 - 1999 Freightliner FL80/S&S Tanker - 1250gpm/3300gal
E-40 responds 2nd-out on all structure fires and accident calls. Due to it's uncommon top-mount pump panel, this rig is one of the
largest in the state. However, thanks to it's rear-wheel steer it still moves easily around the rural roads in Richland's protection area.

Richland Township's sharp new engine will respond first-due for structure fires and replaces the Spartan/S&S below. Engine 48
was the second of two consecutive production trucks for neighboring departments. Nearby Alexandria's Engine 3 was a similarly
configured pumper and was also delivered in October 2009 carrying serial # (HS-4595).

It's equipment includes a 10kw generator and combi-tools. However, it's most unique feature is a built-in
Sno-Cone Machine (shown below) for creating shaved ice for firefighter rehab.

We always like to see new and different features on apparatus. However, this
is the first Sno Cone machine we've ever encountered on a fire truck!
