Station 1: IIAFD Headquarters
Located near the new mid-field Terminal, Station 1 was completed in late 2007. It now serves as department HQ and is home to Crash Rescue 990, Tower 994, Rescue 995, Special Ops 997, Marion County Mass Decon Trailer, Squad 998 and Battalion Chief 9. |

Rescue 990 - "The
Green Hornet" 2002 Oshkosh Striker 3000 Series Foam Unit -
1950gpm/3000gal/420 gal foam/500 pounds of PKP dry chemical
This specially designed all wheel drive vehicle has independent suspension,
extinguishing agent. Truck 990 has a
pump and can deliver 1000gpm through it's Snozzle brand 52 foot-elevating
waterway. The boom is also equipped
with a video camera and thermal imaging camera and a 325gpm bumper turret
also assists with fire suppression. |

Rescue 990 - "The

/500 pounds of PKP dry chemical
"The Green Hornet" is powered by a 600hp Caterpillar diesel
engine and a Twin Disc Brand 6 speed transmission
capable of 0-50mph in 35 seconds. Truck 990 is also equipped with a 10kw
Amps Brand hydraulic generator,
rear axle steering and seating for 5 firefighters. |

ALS Ladder 994 -
2007 Pierce Velocity 100' Tower Ladder - 2000gpm/250gal
Truck 994 runs as a Quint on all fire calls around the airport. |

Former Ladder 994 "Big Jim" -
1996 Smeal/Spartan 75' Rear-mount Ladder - 1250gpm/1000gal booster
tank
Big Jim was named for a community member that was very active with the department
and it's planning. He passed away
from cancer shortly after the arrival of this truck. To
our knowledge this was the only ladder truck in the state
that carries
a 1,000 gallons of water along with a 75' ladder. It is still located a IIAFD Station 1. |

Special Operations Truck
997 - Sterling/Supreme
Truck 997 responds to Hazardous Materials incidents and is used to pull the Marion
County
Mass Decontamination Trailer. |

ALS Squad 998 - "Squadzilla" -
2005 Ford F-550/RPI Mini-Pumper/Light Rescue
ALS Squad 998 responds to all EMS, Fire and Rescue calls around the airport and
terminal. As a mini-pumper it provides
quick response to smaller incidents such as car fires. "Squadzilla" was the winner
of an inter-departmental naming contest
shortly before this rig was delivered in October 2005. |
