Franklin Township Fire Department
Station 52 - Acton

In 1991 the three separate departments were consolidated into the Franklin Township Fire Department of today. FTFD currently includes 70 full-time personnel operating out of headquarters and four stations located across the township.

The 52's are located in the center of the small Town of Acton southeast of Indianapolis. The 52's is the furthest
southeast station in the county. Located just west of the Shelby County line, the "House Street Bullies" is home to
Engine, Tanker, Ambulance and Grass 52.

This fast and sharp new rig entered service in September 2007. It is setup as a Rescue Pumper and responds to fire,

Engine 552 was the first of two identical Seagrave Marauders delivered to the department in 2007.
It will be joined by Engine 555 when the new Station 555 opens in January 2008 on Thompson Rd.

Brush 52 includes small bumper nozzles in the front and jump seats in the back to assist firefighters with dousing grass and
field fires that can occur in the Township's most rural areas. Gras Rig 552 is the only Gras Rig in Marion County.

Station 52 is manned by 4 full-time personnel. When a medical call comes in, Ambulance 52 rolls with 2 FF/EMT's and can
be assisted by the remaining Engine crew as necessary. This rig previously served as Ambulance 51 before moving.

This rig formerly served as A-52. It is now the department's primary reserve ambulance and is kept at Station 54.

This engine was one of the first Pierce Sabers in Indiana. After 13 years of heavy use, it was replaced in
September 2007 with the Seagrave Marauder II Rescue Pumper shown above. It was sold by the department in 2007.
