Franklin Township Fire Department
Station 53

In 1991 the three separate departments were consolidated into the Franklin Township Fire Department of today. Franklin Township currently has 70 personnel operating out of headquarters and four stations located across the township.

Station 53 is home to Engine, Ladder and Rescue 53 as well as Battalion 5, FTFD's Dive Commander and Quartermaster.

In late 2007, this truck was swapped with Aerial 53 and reassigned as Engine 53. This apparatus has a twin at Station 54.

In late 2007, this truck was purchased from nearby Beech Grove. It was then refurbished and placed into service as
Ladder 53. It now serves as the only platform aerial device in the southeast portion of Marion County.

In late 2007, this apparatus swapped assignments with Engine 551. It now runs as Aerial 551 from Station 51 in Wanamaker.
