Since it's Newborn & Pediatric Transport program began, the Washington Township Fire Department has provided FF/EMT's to drive and assist in transport with one of two Newborn & Pediatric Transport Units. The primary ambulance responds from IFD Station 6 to St. Vincent to pickup the transport team. From there they respond to the patient and transport between facilities all over Indiana as necessary. The second ambulance (shown here) is kept at Station 12 in reserve. With the merger of WTFD and IFD in 2006, plans began for St. Vincent to store and staff the ambulances with their own personnel. The completion of that transition is expected in the near future.
