Station 26 - University Heights

Single Engine Station - Closed

Indianapolis Fire Department Station 26 - 1080 East Hanna Avenue - University of Indianapolis/University Heights
Opened: April 23rd, 1964 - Closed: March 2nd, 2009
After serving the University of Indianapolis Area for 35 years, this firehouse was closed in March of 2009. A construction project
that included he widening of Hanna Avenue would have restricted the apparatus driveway on this busy street to an unusable size.
The pending merger of Perry Township and the proximity of Station 61 may have also contributed to the close of this single-
engine house.
