Incident: Engine 27, Ladder 27 and Squad 10 responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries at the corner of E. Michigan
Street and Jefferson Avenue. They arrived on scene to find a white car had crashed head-on in to a small brick building, collapsing
the NE corner. IFD's Collapse Rescue Team was called in, responding Stations 1 & 5. IMPD rerouted traffic and closed off the
block while the IFD's Tactical teams shored up the corner of the building making it safe. The building was occupied at the time, but
the occupants were uninjured. The driver of the vehicle was dazed but also uninjured. Within minutes of this call being dispatched,
the other two downtown Companies and Chiefs were dispatched to a a Tactical Water Rescue incident along W. Michigan Street
and the White River. A driver reported seeing a person in the water and called 9-1-1. After an extensive search from shore and
boat, no person or body was found. The call appeared to be an unintentional false alarm.
 
Units on Scene: Engines 1, 5, 27, Ladders 1 & 27, Tactical 1 & 5, Squad 10, Special Operations Captain
Engine and Ladder 27 was released after Stations 1 & 5 arrived.
