At 12:26 pm the Indianapolis Fire Department dispatched a box alarm to 518 Bacon on a Residence Fire. The Fire was marked
working even before the first units arrived do to the number of calls received. Engine 26 was first in and reported heavy smoke and fire. Engine 26 hooked a 5” supply line from a hydrant in front of the residence. Crews from Engine 661 and Engine 29 pulled attack lines off Engine 26 and Engine 661.
Engine 661 worked the exposure to the west while Engines 26 and 29 worked the fire house and the east exposure. Extra companies were requested but a 2-alarm was never sounded. 2 Firefighters and 2 Civilian were injured slightly during the fire. Total damages: $145,000 (source IFD PIO)
