| Lawrence Township: Station 332 responds to 911 call for smoke and flames coming from an apartment building in the back of the Willows of Castleton Complex. Upon arrival they find several apartments fully involved and a a second alarm is called to include other LTFD Engine companies as well as surrounding IFD Stations. Ladder 332 sets up at a hydrant immediately in front of the building and pumps it's own water. Ladder 21 is brought to the front of the building with Engine 332 supplying water to Ladder 21 from a hydrant down the street. Engine 21 setup a 5" supply around the corner from the building and proceeded to supply Engine companies attacking from the rear of the building. Due to quick response by the participating departments and a well-placed firewall, the fire was contained to only one third of a large 2-story apartment building. Two maintenance workers are credited with bravery and quick-thinking. They ran through the building alerting residents and rescuing pets. Their actions resulted in no apparent injuries from the fire or smoke. | ||
