Station 224 originally built in 1970 has been expanded to accommodate the four apparatus that call this station home.
A new station is being considered for across from the Elementary School south of their current location.

Ladder 224 is one of ladders serving Washington Township. Instead of having a Heavy Rescue, all rescues and extrications
are handled by a task force of an Engine and one Ladder Company with extrication and other rescue equipment
located on the Ladders.

Like Rescue 221, this unit was placed out of service in reserve status once the new American LaFrance Engines arrived.
Engine 224 and Ladder 224 now carry all of the same rescue equipment that was previously kept in this apparatus.
