Pipe Creek Township
Volunteer Fire Department

Bunker Hill is located 60 miles north of Indianapolis and immediately east of Grissom AFB in southern Miami County. Established in 1949, this volunteer department includes 35 members who provide fire and rescue protection to nearly 9,500 residents and 85 square miles including four townships. PCTVFD also responds to all non-military areas of Grissom AFRB and the Miami Correctional Facility.

Station

Pipe Creek Township VFD Headquarters
This station was dedicated to former Chief David Betzner, who is loved and never forgotten. Completed in 2001, department members designed the entire station which was built by FBI Buildings from nearby Russiaville, IN. This large station houses 8 apparatus and includes a laundry room, massive kitchen, meeting room, communications room, 4 restrooms and the chief's office.

Engine 810 is first the first out apparatus for all calls. It also responds as lead Rescue and is equipped with
a full set of extrication tools and a Carins Iris Firefighter Helmet..

Engine 811 - 2000 American LaFrance Metropolitan Pumper - 1500gpm/1000gal
Engine 811 is second out on all fire calls. It's large cab can hold 7 firefighters and carries an MSA TIC5000 infrared camera.
This rig includes hard suction for quick attacks when joined with tanker-supported dump tanks.

 
Brush 103 - 1998 Ford F-350/Marco 100gpm/150gal

Engine 812 - 1983 Ford/American LaFrance - 750gpm/750gal
E-812 serves as the third-out pumper on larger fires.

 
Engine 104 - 1989 Ford C/S&S 1500gpm/1500gal

Tanker 820 - 1984 FORD 8000/McGinley - 300gpm/1500gallon tank

 
Engine 105 - 1951 Maxim S 750gpm/250gal

Rescue 830 - 1983 Dodge/1971 Boyer - 750gpm/250gal
830 is 2nd out for all rescue calls. However, it serves primarily as a grass unit with a skid unit and 200gal tank in
the rear of the truck. R-830 is scheduled for replacement in 2007.
