Crawfordsville Fire Department

The City of Crawfordsville is located 54 miles east-northeast of Indianapolis along I-74 and IN-32 in Montgomery County. This career department responds to Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazardous Materials and ALS calls from 2 fire stations. CFD protects the City of Crawfordsville and Union Township including 35 square miles and 16,000 residents.

Station 1

Station 1 - 100 South Water Street - Downtown Crawfordsville
Station 1 serves as CFD Headquarters. This unique building once housed the fire, police and city works departments. It is
now home to 8 fire apparatus, 3 ALS Ambulances as well as the department's Chief and Asst. Chief. Headquarters is located
in what has been known since the early 1800’s as the Elston Grove section of the city. Therefore, “The Grove Hornets” was
adopted as the Station 1 logo.

Engine 1

Engine 1 is the first due engine for District 1 within the City and second due for District 2 inside the city.

Engine 3

Engine 3 - 2006 Pierce Contender Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
Responding from Station 1, E-3 is is the first due engine for District 1 outside the city and second due for District 2 outside the city.

Rescue 1

Rescue 1 - 2004 Ford F-450/Custom Light Rescue
Rescue 1 is the secondary response rescue vehicle and is primarily used for EMS support.. It is equipped with hydraulic
and electric Hurst extrication tools and a variety of light rescue equipment.

Rescue 5

Rescue 5 - 1993 International/Cayle Craft Heavy Rescue
Rescue 5 is the primary response rescue vehicle for all MVA’s and tactical rescues. It includes a full set of extrication tools
as well as including air and lighting support for fire scenes.

Engine 2

Engine 2 "The East End Express" - 1997 Pierce Saber Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
Engine 2 responds from Station 2 on the city's eastside. It shares quarters with Medic 2 below.

Medic 2

Medic 2 - 2006 Ford E-450/AEV Traumahawk
CFD provides ALS ambulance service throughout the City of Crawfordsville and much of Union Township. There are four
full-time ambulances running 24/7. Most of the firefighters are cross-trained as either EMTs or Paramedics for the most
efficient coverage to CFD's citizens.
