Sparta Township Fire Department

Sparta Township is located 43 miles west of Fort Wayne off IN-5 in western Noble County. This all-volunteer department provides, Fire and Rescue protection to nearly 7,500 residents in the Town of Cromwell, Sparta Township and portions of Washington Township.

Engine 81's equipment includes a Wilburt Light Tower and Combination Rescue Tools for light extrication.

Rescue 83 - 1997 Freightliner FL-70/E-One - Medium walk-around Rescue
Rescue 83's equipment includes a full set of extrication tools, air bags and an on-board cascade system.

Rescue 84 - 1991 Ford E-350/Horton
Rescue 84 was purchased and repainted in 2000 becoming the first apparatus with the department's new color scheme.
Rescue 84's includes equipment for rope and ice rescues, air packs and various rescue tools. Rescue 84 is also the manpower vehicle for mutual aid calls to surrounding departments.

Grass 85 is first due for all 1st Responder medical calls and the primary apparatus for grass, field and trash fires.
