Indiana Fire Trucks: Jefferson Township/Otwell Fire Department

	Jefferson Township Fire Department The Town of Otwell and Jefferson Township are located 133 miles southwest of Indianapolis along IN-356 in northeastern Pike County. JTFD's 18 volunteers and 3 cadets provide Fire, Rescue and ALS response from it's single station. Their response district includes cover 86 square miles of Jefferson and Marion Townships including a population of 2,549 people.

Engine 11 - 2008 International/Seagrave Pumper-Tanker - 1250gpm/2500gal Engine 11 is the second-due to all structure fires and first-due to all vehicle fires. It's equipment includes 5 Survivair Panther SCBAs, 1200 feet of 5" supply hose, Laptop with WTH mapping software and GPS system, 3000 gallon dump tank, and a Survivair RIT kit.


Rescue 1 - 2004 International/KME Heavy Rescue - 250gpm Hale pump/300gal Rescue 1 responds throughout Pike County for all extrication calls. It's territory covers a whopping 337 square miles and a population of 12,508 people. R-1's equipment includes a 6000 watt light tower, Amkus extrication equipment, 4 Survivair Panther SCBAs and a Laptop with WTH mapping software, a GPS system and Holmatro Extrication software. Rescue 1 also responds to structure and car fires.


Engine 10 - 1994 International/E-One Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal Engine 10 is the first-due for all structure fires. It's equipment includes 6 Survivair Panther SCBAs, 1200 feet of 5" supply hose, a Bullard T3Max thermal imager, a Laptop with WTH mapping software and GPS system, and video capturing software for thermal imaging camera.


Tanker 14 - 1992 International - 1950gallon tank Tanker 14 is third due on all structure fires


Truck 15 - 2005 Ford F-350 4x4 w/RKO Enterprises Skid Unit - 250gpm/200gal Truck 15 gets a lot of use at JTFD. It is first due for brush fires, but also responds to extrication calls, vehicle fires and structure fires. It carries typical equipment including waterpacks, rakes, shovels, flappers, chainsaw, and a leaf blower.


Emergency 3 - 1993 Ford E-450/MedTec Emergency 3 is a County Ambulance that provides ALS reponse to JTVFD's district. It is run by volunteers as well.


Former Engine 11 - 1978 Ford/RPI Pumper - 250gpm/500gal Engine 11 was previously second-due for extrications and third out for brush fires. It was sold in early 2007.


Former Tanker 12 - 1978 Mack R/1993 JTVFD tank - 2650 gallon tank Tanker 12 was second out on structure fires and responds to brush fires as necessary. This rig was replaced (along with Engine 11) by the 2007 International/Seagrave at the top of this page.
