Station 1

NPS Fire Station 1 - Porter, IN
Stations 1 & 2 were previously used by C-32, a Nike Missle Base Radar Post that was located here between 1957-1974.
While, the radar towers are gone, the command site is owned and operated by the National Park Service. The actual missle
launch site was sold to an individual and is not accessible to the public. However, the owner lives on the site and the structures
have been kept in excellent condition. The remaining C-32 structures are used by the NPS including both firehouses.

Okay, so maybe this isn't really a fire apparatus. However, the crews at NPS did such a good job, we couldn't pass it up.
So do you just throw your victim in the basket to transport them down the street? How much 1-3/4" could it carry?

Special thanks to Captain Jim Whitenack for his assistance in arranging the apparatus for these pictures and for
providing department background and history.
