Liberty
Township Volunteer Liberty Township is located 42 miles east of Chicago in Porter County between Chesterton and Valparaiso. Started in 1955, this all-volunteer department has 36 active members including a Chief, Asst. Chief, Captain, 5 Lieutenants, and a Safety Officer. Liberty Township provides Fire, Rescue and BLS Response to Liberty Township and half of Jackson Township under contract. The department also runs automatic aid with South Haven FD, Westville VFD, and Washington Township VFD. Liberty Township responds with 6 apparatus from a single station located at 47 West 900 North in Chesterton. |

| Squad 1933 -1995 GMC
Suburban Squad -1933 is first out on all EMS assists and it's equipment includes and AED for fast cardiac response. ALS Transport service is provided for most of the county by Porter Memorial Hospital's 3 MICU ambulances. |
