The Town of South Haven is located in western Porter County along CR 700. This combination department includes 50 members including 2 full-time personnel each shift to run their ALS Ambulance service. Responding from a single station, SHFD provides Fire, Rescue and ALS/BLS protection to nearly 20 square miles and 6,500 residents.

Engine 11 is generally the first out for all non-medical incidents at SHFD. In addition to firefighting tools, it includes a full
set of Hurst Extrication Tools.

Engine 12 is the second-due engine for fire and extrication calls.

Squad 51 ds

Squad 51 serves multiple functions for the department. It is the first-out for brush fires, it is sometimes used as an EMS chase
vehicle and can respond to accidents in heavy winter weather with it's four-wheel drive and combi-tool extrication set.

Rescue 63 ds

Rescue 63 is the first-out ALS Ambulance for the department. It was the first apparatus to display SHFD's new striping scheme.

R-61 serves primarily as the department's reserve ambulance, but there is available for third-out status during peak run times.
