The Town of Mount Vernon is located along IN-62 where the Wabash and Ohio Rivers meet in southern Posey County. Organized in 1971, this all-volunteer department protect a very rural district of farmland and river basins including 500 residents and 49 square miles southwest of Mount Vernon.
Point Township Fire Station - 11930 Bonebank Road These four apparatus protect a large rural area southwest of Mount Vernon that includes the Hovey Lake area.
Engine 3 - 1979 Ford C/Pierce Pumper (#E-0274) - 1000gpm/750gal E-3 was purchased from Wadesville, IN in 2001.
Truck 4 - 1963 Ford F700/Midwest - 500gpm/1500gal This rig previously served Wakarusa, IN prior to it's purchase in 2005.
Rescue 5 - 1992 Chevy K2500/Reading/2001 Marco - 200gpm/200gal
This apparatus was purchased from Knight Township in 2004. This rig previously served as Rescue 4 where it had a enclosed top. The top was removed and the skid unit was added by Point Township.

This rig formerly served Fairfield Rural FPD in Illinois.
