Osgood Volunteer Fire Department

The Town of Osgood is located 70 miles southeast of Indiananapolis in central Ripley County along US-421 and IN-350.
The Osgood Volunteer Fire Dept. Inc. proudly protects 3300 people living in the 33 square miles of Center Township and the Town of Osgood. This all-volunteer department consists of 28 Active Firefighters, 6 Cadets and 6 Reserves. A Junior Firefighter program was also started in 2002.

Task Unit 1 is a Heavy Rescue/Extrication Unit that responds all over Ripley County for vehicle extrication and tactical rescues. It responds from it's own separate station located in the Town of Osgood. This is one of only a handful of dedicated Tactical Rescue units in Indiana that are not affiliated with a particular department.
