Clay Fire Territory - Station 3

The Clay Fire Territory is located along the Michigan State
Border just north of South Bend in St. Joseph County. CFT protects 70 square miles, including the town of Roseland, the town of Indian Village, Clay and German Townships. Clay Fire's current staffing includes 34 full-time personnel with an additional 40 on-call volunteers. Clay Fire responds to more than 2,500 Fire, Rescue, and EMS calls from 3 fire stations and protects nearly 45,000 residents.
On July 31, 2006 Clay Fire Territory began providing fire & medical protection to German Township.

German Township without hydrants.

In January 2008, this rig headed to RPI for refurb and repaint. It returns in the spring of 2008 as Engine 242 and will
become the primary Engine at Station 2.

This location was purchased by the airport and was closed in April 2007. This station previously only covered a small 10
square block area of German Township that is completely cut off from the rest of the Township by the airport. Clay Fire
has contracted with Portage Township to provide all fire services to this area in the future. The airport intends to buy all the properties in this area of German Township in the near future.
