Station 1: Headquarters

The City of Mishawaka just east of US-31 and next door to South Bend in St. Joseph County. Mishawaka is home to Bethel College and
AM General's Hummer Plant. Started in 1904, MFD provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazardous Materials and ALS protection to approximately 47,000 residents. Mishawaka is a career department with 90 full-time members, more than half of which are EMT's.

Rescue 1 runs with a two man crew and is sometimes joined by the Assistant Chief on fire runs and larger incidents.
Rescue 1 includes advanced extrication and tactical rescue equipment and will respond throughout the city as needed.
