Station 4 & EMS Station
The
City of Mishawaka just east of US-31 and next door to South Bend
in St. Joseph County. Mishawaka is home to Bethel College and
AM General's Hummer Plant. Started in 1904, Mishawaka provides Fire,
Tactical Rescue, Hazardous Materials and ALS protection to approximately
47,000 residents. Mishawaka is a career department with 90 full-time
members more than half of which are EMT's. |

Mishawaka Fire Department Station 4 - 2319 Lincoln Way East and South Brook Street
Built in 1929, this single-bay firehouse continues to protect the city's eastside.
However, due to it limited bay height
and width, very few modern fire apparatus will still fit into this historic building. The new Engine shown above was custom
designed to fit the station, but still only has 8" of clearance around the cab! |

Mishawaka Fire Department EMS Station - East
Mishawaka Road and Division Street
In January 2002, Mishawaka EMS became a division of the Mishawaka Fire Department. Since that time, new firefighters are
now required to hold EMT certifications. Former EMS employees who did not become firefighters are civilian employees of the
new department. |
