Station - 1222 South Michigan Street This long-awaited building was completed in early 2005 as the deptment's new headquarters. This new facility offers a more central location, drive-through bays and much more apparatus and living space than the old Station 1. |

| Rescue 1 - 2007 Pierce Enforcer - partial walk-in Heavy Rescue | ||
| Rescue 1 is staffed by four personnel and responds to all working fires, entrapments
and tactical rescues throughout South Bend. The front half of the rear compartment includes a walk-in area with seating so the rescue personnel can dress and prepare for Dive and other incidents while easily communicating with the other crew members. |

| This rig served as SBFD's frontline rescue for more than a decade until replaced by the rig above in October 2007. It currently serves as a reserve rescue truck, but will likely begin carrying advanced technical rescue equipment not carried by R-1. |
