Volunteer Fire Department

The small village of Pleasantville is located 70 miles west of Indianapolis along IN-159 and the Sullivan/Greene county border. The department was established in the late 1940's and is possibly the smallest and most rural department in the state. The 6 members of JTVFD responded to only 26 runs last year. JTVFD provides Fire, Rescue and First-Responder Medical protection to 600 residents and 36 square miles.

This firehouse is located on the southern edge of the Greene-Sullivan State Forest.

Brush 23 responds to brush fires, medical runs and accident calls. This truck carries a set of Amkus extrication tools along
with a Porta Power system for light extrication.
