The City
of Sullivan is located 26 miles south of Terre Haute just east
of US-41 in central Sullivan County. This combination department includes 3 full-time personnel at Station 1 each shift supplmented by call back personnel and 18 volunteer members for the remaining apparatus. SFD provides Fire, Rescue and ALS
protection to approximately 5,500 residents and 16 square miles in the City of Sullivan and
Hamilton Township.
Sullivan Fire Station
1 - Headquarters
Located in downtown Sullivan, Station 1 moved to this former Red & White Supermarket in 1985.
It is now home to Engines 1 & 2, Rescue 1 and Brush 1

Engine 2 is the first due for Fire calls with the City and second-due for responses in Hamilton
Township.
Engine 1 - 1990 Pierce
Dash Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
Engine 1 is the first-due for Fire calls within Hamilton Township and second- due for Fire & calls within the city.
Rescue 1 - 1999 Ford
F-450/1979 E-One Mini Pumper - 250gpm/250gal
Rescue 1 was refurbished locally to add it's new chassis, cab and diamond-plated
storage compartments
on top of an old E-One mini-pumper body. It now responds first due for all extrication and rescue calls.

Completed in 1997, Station 2 helps protect Hamilton Township and the rural areas
surrounding the City of Sullivan.
Ladder 1 - 1990 HME/Smeal

Ladder 1 previously ran out of Station 1. However, due to it's size, it was not always able to respond first-due to some of the smaller roads and bridges within the surrounding Township.
Former Engine 2 - 1994 Spartan/Quality

Engine 2 previously responded first due for Fire & Rescue calls from Station 2 in Hamilton
Township.
Former Engine 3 -
1979 GMC Mini-pumper - 50gpm/150gal This rig previously ran as the primary brush truck from Station 1.
Former ALS Squad 1 - 1992 Ford/Wheeled
Coach Type I 4x4 ambulance.
Purchased by SFD in 2001, this rig responded to all EMS calls prior to the arrival of the Ford/Marque in 2004..
