Wabash Township is located along the western edge of West Lafayette between US-52/US-231 and and IN-26 in west-central Tippecanoe County. Established in 1971, the department now includes 38 volunteer firefighters and EMTs, a part-time FF and a part-time Chief. WTFD responds to more than 650 runs each year from their two stations. WTFD provides Fire, Rescue and BLS protection to 55 square miles of Wabash Township and a portion of Shelby Township. ALS transport is provided county-wide by Tippecanoe Co. EMS.

Station 2 - 51 S. Neuman Road - West Lafayette
Station 2 is located in a rural area of the township just west of the Purdue University Airfield. This firehouse is home to
Engine 601 and Rescue 607.

E-601 carries extrication and rescue equipment for Station 2. It responds first-due for all structure fires on the south
end of the township.
