German Township Fire Department
Station 9 - North

German Township is located in northwest Vanderburgh County along IN-65 immediately northwest of Evansville. Established in the 1950's, the 80 members of this combination department respond with 7 frontline apparatus from their two stations. GTFD provides Fire, Rescue, and Medical protection to 28.8 square miles and 7,500 residents.

Station 9 - Cynthia Road (State Road 65) - Northside
The 9's is currently home to Brush , Rescue, Tanker and Engine 9

Engine 9 - 1999 Pierce Dash Pumper/Tanker - 1000gpm/2500gal
Engine 9 is the first due for structure and commercial fire calls from Station 9. This apparatus bears the name of Lt. Matt Kirkman,
who died in a non-fire-related vehicle accident the same year this engine arrived. The dedication of this apparatus to him is just
one of several ways the department remembers it's fallen brother.

Rescue 9 - 2008 GMC 5500/Pierce (#21040)
This apparatus is equipped with Amkus extrication tools, a light tower and a 3 bottle cascade system for air refills. Rescue 9 is first-due for accidents and auto extrications throughout the Township.
