Fire Department


The village of Fontanet is located 10 miles northeast of Terre Haute in northeast Vigo County. Organized in 1953, this all-volunteer department includes 12 members that respond to approximately 125 runs each year from their single station. NTVFD provides Fire, Rescue and First Responder Medical protection to 35 square miles including the Town of Fontanet and Nevins Township.

This apparatus responds first-due for Rescue and Medical calls and carries a set of Hurst extrication tools. Rescue 31
