The City of Terre Haute is located 88 miles west
of Indianapolis along I-70 near the Illinois state border in
Vigo County. THFD's career department includes 8 Stations that provide Fire, Rescue, Hazmat & ALS protection to 60,000
residents and over 31 square miles.
Terre Haute Fire Department Station 6 - 26th and Hulman - Southeast Station 6 is a single-engine house the protects the southeast side of the city all the way out to Hulman Field and I-70
Engine 6 - 1991 KME Predator Pumper - 1250gpm/750gal Due to their low station height, Engine 6 requires a shorter apparatus than the new Smeals at many of the other stations. A new
pumper is under consideration for this station. At that time, this rig would likely move to reserve status.
Terre Haute Fire Department Station 7 - North 13th Street and Fort Harrison - Far North Side Station 7 protects the northside of Terre Haute and is home to Engine 7, Ambulance 7 and a Reserve Ladder.
Engine 7 - 2001 Smeal Rescue Pumper - 1500gpm Waterous Pump/750gal Engine 7 serves the far northside of town. Several of the engines in town were
hand-painted with flames
and logos by
a local resident.

Reserve Ladder - 1994 Pierce Arrow 105' rear-mount ladder - 1500gpm/200gal With the arrival of the new KME above, this truck was repainted and reassigned as THFD's reserve ladder in 2005.
