The City of Richmond is located 73 miles east of Indianapolis along I-70 at the Ohio border. Established in 1872, this career department includes 81 personnel responding from 6 fire stations. RFD provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazmat and ALS Protection to 37,000 residents and 62 square miles including Richmond and surrounding areas of Wayne County.

Station 3
3850 Woodside Drive at Hayes Arboretum Rd.
Built in 1975, this single-engine house is located just north of the busy US-40 corridor on the city's eastside.

Due to it's mix of crowded commercial and residential areas, E-3 is typically the busiest Engine company in the city.
 
Station 4 is located on the south side of town along US-27

Station 4 - 801 South "L" Street at 8th Street
Built in 1962, Station 4 is located on the south side of town along US-27. The 4's serves a more rural section of town and
assists the nearby town of Boston on municipal airport runs. The 4's is home to Engine 4, Unit 28 and includes the department's repair shops on the backside of the building.

Built in 1972, the 5's is home to Engine 5 and the city's Dive Rescue and Hazmat truck and trailer.

Station 6
Station 6 - 1501 NW 5th Street
Built in 1960, the 6's is a single-engine house that protects the heavily industrial northwest side of town including portions of I-70.

Former Engine 6 - 1992 KME Pumper - 1250gpm/750tank
This apparatus formerly served as E-6 and E-1. It was replaced with a 2007 Pierce Saber Pumper (not yet shown). This rig
now serves as a reserve apparatus for the department.
