Markle Rural Fire Department

The small town of Markle is located 25 miles south of Fort Wayne along I-69 in northwestern Wells County. Originally founded in 1899, there are now 30 members of this all-volunteer department. MRFD provides Fire, Rescue & BLS non-transport protection to approximately 2,000 residents and 108 square miles. Their response area includes the Town of Markle and Union and Rock Creek Townships in both Wells and Huntington Counties.

This former ambulance was refurbished to carry extrication tools, cribbing and other rescue equipment. 905 can also function
as a rehab vehicle for fires and larger incidents.

Markle previously ran a BLS Ambulance from their station. However, that service was discontinued by the town and contracted
out to Wells County and Huntington County EMS. MRFD now provides first responder protection to it's district.
